The campus sits off West Covell Boulevard, and the main entrance is on Sutter Place, under the covered drop-off. Parking is ordinary surface lots wrapped around the buildings rather than a multi-level structure, which makes this one of the easier hospitals in the region to arrive at. The Emergency Department has its own separate entrance, so if that's where you're headed, follow the signs for it rather than the main doors.

You don't need to clear our visit with the hospital ahead of time, but the number of visitors allowed at the bedside changes from unit to unit. What the Patient Will Need
The person signing needs a government-issued photo ID that is either current or was issued within the last five years. A California driver's license or ID card is the usual one; a U.S. or foreign passport and a military ID work just as well. If the wallet went missing somewhere between the Emergency Department and the room upstairs, California law lets us establish identity a second way: credible witnesses who personally know the patient and bring their own ID. If it is sitting at home across town rather than lost, the law does not allow that route — it has to be brought in.
The patient also has to be awake, aware of what they're signing, and able to say in their own words that they want to sign it. Sedation is the usual sticking point, and we can't notarize for someone who is unable to communicate.
